Pediatric CPR and Safety Course

This is a two-session course taught by a certified CPR instructor for parents, babysitters and others who would like to learn CPR techniques for infants and children and how to manage emergencies in the home. Early Pregnancy Classes

This two-session series of free classes helps expectant parents prepare for their baby's arrival. Topics include: prenatal care, exercise, nutrition, breast and bottle feeding and newborn care. A tour of The Birth Place is included. For more information, call 334-4811.

Lamaze Prepared Childbirth Classes

Lamaze childbirth classes cover exercise, nutrition, visualization, breathing techniques, and newborn care. The instructors are nationally certified childbirth educators. The $75 fee is waived if delivery is at Benedictine Hospital. Register by your 24th week. Call 338-2500, extension 4221.

Bradley Method Prepared Childbirth

The Bradley Method prepares mothers and fathers for the natural birth of their baby with an emphasis on natural relaxation, good nutrition, and positive communication. The classes are taught by a certified Bradley educator. The $120 fee is waived if delivery is at Benedictine Hospital. Register by your 21st week. Call 338-2500, extension 4221.

VBAC Class

A free informational session open to women, and their families, who are pregnant or who are planning a pregnancy and wish to have a vaginal birth after having had a cesarean section. Long Term Care & Nursing Home Selection Classes

These free classes are held the second Tuesday of the month at 12:00 and the fourth Tuesday of the month at 4:30 and are for family members, friends, and care providers who are seeking information on quality of care, advocacy, financing, selection and placement. Complementary Medicine Discussion Group

This discussion group meets the last Wednesday of each month, is free and is open to men and women to share their ideas and practices and to listen to what others are doing to maintain good health. Healing Circle Visual Arts Program

These free Saturday classes are open to all cancer patients and their families and friends to learn art skills from painting to multimedia through individual and community projects. Healing Circle Improv

Meeting the first and third Wednesday of the month, this free improvisational theatre group creates healing pieces to dramatize the feelings and thoughts of cancer patients. Movement and Zest

This free workshop takes place every Thursday of the month and is open to everyone, including cancer patients and their families. Participants utilize movement for exercise and self-expression. Anti-Cancer Advocacy Group

The Anti-Cancer Advocacy Group meets the third Thursday of every month, is free, and open to cancer patients and members of the community. This coalition of advocacy groups explores the possible connections between cancer and the environment. For more information, call Rosemarie, 255-0836.
