Emergency Medical Services

The EMS Services at Benedictine Hospital works closely with the emergency physicians and the Emergency Department staff to ensure quality care for our patients. The hospital EMS provides educational, administrative, quality improvement, control and operational support for Emergency Medical Services.

All of the Emergency Department physicians are online for medical control. All are Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. Ongoing continuing educational lectures and case reviews with EMS providers ensure direct involvement with the quality improvement process.

The EMS Coordinator is also involved in County Task Forces and Health Department Committees. The EMS Services provide:

• American Heart Association CPR, Pediatric BLS, ALS, PALS; EMS continuing Medical Education Services and Neonatal Resuscitation.
• EMS Services also is involved in preparation of public access CPR, defibrillation and child safety seat technicians. It is an American Heart Association certified Training Center.
